The Marion High School volleyball team entered South Seven Conference action Thursday night and lost to Belleville Althoff in a 25-14, 25-10 sweep. Kylie Plant had 11 kills and Kaylee Evans had 10 assists, while Plant and McKenzie Orange both had two blocks. Jordan Turner, Plant and Orange all had five digs. Marion's JV won in three games (25-21, 21-25, 15-13) and Althoff won the freshman match (25-23, 25-19). The Lady Wildcats play at the Southern Illinois Preview Tournament on Saturday in Carbondale. Marion opens in Pool B at 9 a.m. against Centralia, Highland and Salem with hopes of moving to the championship crossover bracket. Marion's next regular match is Tuesday at Harrisburg.
