The Marion High School boys soccer team lost to a highly-touted Belleville East, 2-1, on the road Thursday night. Hamzah Baker scored the Wildcats' lone goal with 19 seconds left from an assist by Tyson Stoecklin. Marion's record dipped to 2-3-1 with the loss. Marion plays at Anna-Jonesboro on Tuesday and hosts Belleville Althoff in the long-awaited home opener on Thursday.
